随着我国经济快速发展，许多城市和地区正在进行大型交通通道的建设，作为大型交通基础设施的交通通道是城市和区域发展的基本支撑体系，交通通道对城市和区域发展有着广泛而深远的影响。对交通通道与城市和区域发展之间的关系进行研究，探讨三者之间的相互作用机制与影响关系具有十分重要的理论和现实意义，本论文正是对其中若干问题进行的有益研究。
论文以交通通道、港口城市和区域发展为研究对象，综合运用了经济地理学、区域经济学、城市和区域规划学、系统工程学和交通工程学的相关知识，在系统分析了交通通道、港口城市和区域发展三者的基本关系基础上，着重从交通通道与城镇形态的关系、交通通道与沿线地区经济发展的关系、现代沿海港口城市交通通道体系三个方面分析了交通通道与港口城市和区域发展的相互影响关系，主要的研究内容包括：
（1）交通通道、港口、港口城市和区域发展之间的基本影响关系
（2）交通工具、交通通道形式变化与城镇形态的演化规律研究
（3）交通通道与城镇形态的相互影响作用研究
（4）交通通道对沿线地区经济发展影响问题研究
（5）现代海港和海港城市的发展趋势与特性分析
（6）现代沿海港口城市交通通道的体系结构和优化方法研究
最后，对论文研究内容进行了结论性总结。

With the rapid development of the economy of China, many great transportation infrastructures are being constructed in many cities and regions. As a type of great infrastructures, transportation corridor is regarded as the primarily supporting system and has a comprehensive and far-reaching influence on urban and regional development. It has theoretical and practical significance to explore the influencing relations and functionary mechanism of transportation corridors, cities and regional development.
The purpose of this research was to study several matters of the relations of corridors, port cities and regions and analyze the impact of transportation corridors on port cities and regional development. This research combined the knowledge of the Economic Geography, Regional Economics, Urban and Regional Planning, System Engineering and Transportation Engineering. Based on the systemic analysis of the transportation corridors, port cities and regional development, the research mainly investigated the matter from three aspects: the relations of the corridors and regional configuration, the relations of the corridors and regional economy and the system of the transportation corridors of modern seaport cities. The main contents included in the thesis are as follows:
(1) The primarily influencing relations of transportation corridors, ports, port cities and regional development.
(2) Study on the influence of the changes of vehicles and corridors on the evolvement of the region-town conformation.
(3) Research on the influencing action between transportation corridors and region-town configuration.
(4) Analyzes the economic benefit produced by transportation corridors.
(5) Studies the trends and characters of modern seaports.
(6) Research on the systemic framework and the optimization of the transportation corridors of seaports.
At last, the article draws some conclusions of the whole study.
